What to expect
Kumasi is the seat of the Asante kingdom and the craft capital of Ghana. You'll visit the Manhyia Palace, get lost in Kejetia market, watch kente woven in Bonwire, and end by the crater lake at Bosomtwe.
Day by Day
Itinerary
1Day 1: Into Kumasi
Arrive in Kumasi (fly from Accra or drive). Afternoon at the Manhyia Palace Museum for the story of the Asante kings, then the National Cultural Centre.
2Day 2: Kejetia & Bonwire
A morning in Kejetia, one of the largest markets in West Africa, then out to Bonwire village to sit with a kente weaver and try the loom.
3Day 3: Lake Bosomtwe
A relaxed day at Lake Bosomtwe, Ghana's only natural lake, sacred to the Asante. Swim or take a boat before the return journey.
